OK, I'll bite.
Why the fascination with this Leighton?
No fascination. I just found them and thought they're good enough to deserve posting.
Thanks for renewing my acquaintance with Leighton. He is one of my favorites.
Leighton was at the peak of a particular genre of Victorian - what I would call hyper-realist - painting. I'm not sure I'd want one on the living room wall, but they are sheer delight to look at.
